Here’s how you get the discount:
1. Download the United mobile app
Head on over to your mobile app store and download the best app in the airline biz (really, it was crowned the “Best of the Best” during this year’s Webby Awards). The United app will be your new travel best friend: book your flights, access your tickets, watch movies in the air, and so much more – I couldn’t travel without it. If you already have the app, make sure you have the latest version to take advantage of the discount.
2. Sign up for a MileagePlus account
Use the app to register for a FREE MileagePlus account (United’s frequent flyer program). Make sure you enter your birthday when registering to verify your age for the discount. Oh, and your MileagePlus account will earn you miles on every flight you take so you can use them to book future travel.
3. Book your flights through the app
Make sure you’re signed into your MileagePlus account on the app and select “Discounted travel (ages 18-22)” on the booking tab. You have to book your flights between now and December 31, 2019, but the actual trip can be any time in the future available for booking. Keep in mind, this discount only works on the mobile app, so feel free to search for flights on your laptop, just be sure to book through the app.
