San Francisco absolutely takes the cake for one of the most scenic cities in America. From beaches to peaks to totally unique architecture, the city has endless sights to explore. If you only have a couple of days in San Francisco, here’s everything you shouldn’t miss.
BAKER BEACH
Grab a coffee and start your day with a walk at scenic (although I promise you, everything in SF is scenic) Baker Beach for unobstructed views of the Golden Gate Bridge. If you’re a dog person, you’ll love the number of happy pups running around here.
BATTERY SPENCER
Take a drive across the Golden Gate for the best view of the bridge and city skyline. Some of my favorite pictures I’ve taken in San Francisco were taken at this exact spot. Parking is limited for this popular viewpoint, so try to make it here early in the day!
PAINTED LADIES AT ALAMO SQUARE PARK
Stop by Alamo Square Park and snap some pictures in front of the iconic “Painted Ladies” houses. If these homes look familiar, you might recognize them from the opening sequence of Full House!
LOMBARD STREET
Known as the “crookedest” street in the world, Lombard Street is a must-see when visiting the city. You don’t need more than a few minutes to stop by and see it, and if you’re feeling fit you could walk the stairs along the side of the street.
TWIN PEAKS
Drive (or hike!) to the top of Twin Peaks for 360 degree views of the city. It can get SUPER windy at the top, so hold onto your hats or anything that might blow away.
PIER 39 AT FISHERMAN’S WHARF
While Fisherman’s Wharf is a super busy tourist destination, it’s worth stopping by to check out the literal sea of sea lions that hang out at Pier 39. Something about the personality of sea lions could have you watching them for hours.
CHINATOWN
Did you know San Francisco is home to the largest Chinatown outside of Asia? I always enjoy taking a stroll through cultural neighborhoods to temporarily feel like I’ve transported to a new city within a city.
PALACE OF FINE ARTS
One of the most popular photography spots in the city, it’s worth a visit to snap some pics at the historic rotunda built in 1915.
PACIFICA
Take a scenic drive just 20 minutes south of the city and you can escape to a small coastal town with the most incredible ocean views. Stop at Pacficia State Beach to watch the surfers or drive a few more minutes to my favorite secluded spot at Gray Whale Cove State Beach.
